Every child deserves an education. Every child deserves hope. And no child should be denied the opportunity to learn because of poverty.
A Promise to Give 200 Children a Chance
We set ourselves a challenge: to mobilise the resources needed to send 200 children from the Yamba community in Cameroon’s North-West Region to school.
It was more than a campaign. It was a commitment to children whose dreams have been overshadowed by poverty, insecurity, and years of armed conflict.
For nearly a decade, communities across Cameroon’s North-West Region have endured the devastating consequences of a prolonged crisis. Among those bearing the heaviest burden are children, many of whom have grown up with limited access to education, healthcare, and the basic necessities of life.
In Yamba, the reality is heartbreaking.
Children walk barefoot, wear torn clothes, and struggle with hunger. For many families, even the seemingly modest sum of 5,000 FCFA in school fees is an insurmountable barrier between their children and the classroom.
For these children, education is not simply a matter of enrolling in school. It is a daily struggle for an opportunity that many others take for granted.
When Poverty Steals the Opportunity to Learn

Beyond the visible hardships lies a deeper and more troubling reality: educational exclusion.
Many children in these remote communities have had little or no opportunity to develop literacy skills or learn to communicate confidently in Cameroon’s official languages, English and French. Some struggle to write their own names, while others lack birth certificates—documents that are essential for establishing their identity and accessing important services.
These challenges extend far beyond the classroom. Without education, children face a greater risk of remaining trapped in cycles of poverty, exclusion, and limited opportunity.
When a child cannot attend school because their family cannot afford 5,000 FCFA, the consequences reach beyond that child. They affect families, communities, and generations yet to come.
Education is more than a right. It is a powerful instrument for breaking the cycle of intergenerational poverty.
And no child should be denied that opportunity simply because of where they were born or the circumstances into which they were born.
80 Children Reached. 120 More to Go.

We began with an ambitious goal: to support 200 children.
Through the generosity, commitment, and support mobilised for this initiative, we were able to provide essential assistance to 80 children.
The support included clothing, shoes, pens, exercise books, school bags, and school fees—basic necessities that can make the difference between a child remaining at home and taking their place in a classroom.
For these 80 children, the intervention represented more than material assistance. It was a message that they matter, that their future matters, and that their dreams deserve a chance.
However, we recognise that our work is far from complete.
Our initial target was 200 children. We have reached 80, leaving 120 children still to be supported.
Behind this number are children who continue to face the same barriers to education. Their needs remain urgent, and their hopes remain worthy of our collective commitment.
We refuse to allow the distance between our achievements and our target to become a reason to give up.
Instead, it is a reason to do more.
Our Mission Continues: Equipping Children with the Most Powerful Weapon Against Poverty
We remain committed to bringing hope to children in Yamba and other underserved communities where poverty, insecurity, and geographical isolation continue to deny young people access to education.
We believe that investing in a child’s education is one of the most meaningful investments we can make in the future of a community.
A school bag may seem like a small gift. A pair of shoes may seem insignificant. A few exercise books and pens may appear ordinary. And 5,000 FCFA in school fees may seem like a modest contribution.
But for a child who has nothing, these necessities can open the door to an entirely different future.
Every child who enters a classroom represents a possibility: the possibility of learning to read and write, discovering new talents, acquiring useful skills, and growing into an adult capable of contributing meaningfully to society.
We envision a future in which children from Yamba can pursue their dreams without being held back by poverty. A future in which every child can write their own name, communicate confidently, obtain the documentation they need, and access the opportunities that education makes possible.
This is the future we are working towards.
Join Us in Reaching the Remaining 120 Children

We cannot do this alone.
The challenge of educating children in remote and crisis-affected communities requires collective action. Individuals, organisations, businesses, development partners, and people of goodwill all have a role to play.
Your contribution can help provide school fees, learning materials, clothing, shoes, and other essential items for children who would otherwise be left behind.
You do not have to change the entire world to change a child’s world.
Sometimes, the cost of a few school supplies or a modest school fee is all that stands between a child and the opportunity to learn.
Together, we can help bridge that gap.
Our goal remains 200 children. We have supported 80. With your help, we can reach the remaining 120.
Let us stand with the children of Yamba. Let us restore hope where hardship has taken hold. Let us ensure that growing up in a remote community or a region affected by conflict does not determine a child’s destiny.
Because every child matters.
Because education is a right, not a privilege.
And because no child should be forgotten.
