Children are not just the future they are also the present. They have ideas, experiences, and perspectives that matter right now. At CVA, we believe that when children are heard, better decisions are made, better policies are written, and better communities are built.
We are a non-profit, non-governmental organization based in Bamenda, Cameroon. We work to protect children’s rights, give children a platform to speak, and make sure the adults and governments who shape their lives are listening.
CVA envisions a world where children are protected from threats to their survival and development including climate change, environmental harm, pollution, conflict, and war while their full right to participate in all matters that affect them is respected and guaranteed.
The mission of CVA is to advocate for, promote, and raise awareness of children's and young people's rights especially in the face of threats both local and global while enabling children to actively and equally participate in all decisions and matters that directly concern their lives, in Cameroon and beyond.
Our Motto Justice, Peace, Love | Our Slogan "We Are the World's Future" |
Everything we do is guided by the following values:
Every child deserves the same rights and opportunities, regardless of who they are or where they come from.
We are open and honest about how we work, how we spend money, and the results we achieve.
We take responsibility for our actions and results to the children we serve, our members, and our partners.
We serve all children equally regardless of race, sex, religion, language, nationality, or background.
We believe that knowledge is power and that power belongs to every child. CVA works to ensure that children have access to education, understand their rights, and are equipped to speak up in matters that concern them.
No child should suffer in silence. CVA is committed to the care, well-being, survival, and development of all children with a particular focus on those facing extreme hardship caused by:
CVA advocates loudly and clearly for children's rights. We work to ensure that governments, institutions, communities, and families understand and fulfil their obligations to protect children.
CVA also works with children who have come into conflict with the law. We believe that punishment alone does not heal children need re-education, rehabilitation, and reformation to find a better path forward.
Children who have been forced to flee their homes because of conflict or disaster face some of the most difficult conditions. CVA takes deliberate steps to ensure that Internally Displaced Children (IDCs) receive:
CVA provides counselling and practical skills training for children and young people in need. We understand that many children especially those from disadvantaged or crisis-affected backgrounds need more than just emotional support. They need tools to build a future.
CVA is committed to working towards the provision of basic health care for children and young people who are victims of climate change-related disasters, pollution, environmental degradation, conflict, and war.
Children's rights cannot be protected by one organization alone. CVA actively collaborates with: • Local and international non-governmental organizations • Government ministries and agencies
At CVA, we know that change happens when people come together with a shared purpose. Whether you are an individual, a professional, a student, an organization, or a business there is a place for you in our community.
Here is how you can be part of our mission:
Membership at CVA is open to all Cameroonians and foreigners, individuals and institutions who care about children's rights and want to make a difference.
Your time and skills are some of the most valuable gifts you can give. CVA welcomes volunteers who can help in areas such as: • Facilitating workshops and training sessions for children and young people • Providing counselling or psycho-social support
Your donation helps CVA protect children, fund programs, and give young people the support they need to grow, learn, and thrive. Every contribution large or small makes a real difference.
CVA is actively seeking partnerships with local and international organizations, institutions, foundations, and businesses that share our commitment to children's rights and well-being.
